In an effort to learn about trends, I thought it would be interesting to investigate the 1960’s. To my discovery there were some massive fashion movements that became extremely popular and main stream. The main theme of the 1960’s involved social movements and fashion which often mirrored itself. In the 1960’s Mary Quant invented the mini-skirt, and Jackie Kennedy produced the ever so popular French manicure with false eyelashes and the pillbox hat. The hippie movement in the late decade of the 60’s also allowed for a transfusion of women’s clothing styles which included bell-bottom jeans, tie-dye, and batik fabrics which also includes paisley prints. Emilio Pucci became main stream in the 1960’s with the “micro-minis” or “Angel Dress” that used crocheted lace, velvet, chiffon, and sometimes cotton with psychedelic prints.
