Angelina Jolie… Jewelry Line

From what I found on Google, it seems to be that Angelina Jolie will be designing a new pricey  jewelry line. WWD is saying that the actress teamed up with ex-Asprey CEO Robert Procop to create a line of necklaces, rings and more. All of the proceeds from the sales benefitting Angie’s charity Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

Behind the trend…The Mini Skirt

The Mini skirt is ideally a skirt that ends well above the knee. It became popular from 1965 to 1970. It was considered to be daring and controversial during it’s introduction into fashion. The mini skirt is typically worn by younger women. Below are some examples of the mini skirt that I found on Polyvore.com

Behind the designs…get to know Halston

Halston 1932-90. Designer born Roy Halson Frowick in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. Halston attended the University of Indiana and the Chicago Institute. In 1953 he opened a millinery salon in a Chicago hotel where he had clients such as Gloria Swanson and Deborah Kerr. In 1958 he joined a company in New York called Lilly Dache. Moving on up he next was employed at a millinery salon of Bergdorf Goodman’s New York department store. Halston designed many hats for Jacqueline Kennedy (Onassis), including a beige felt pillbox that was widely copied. In 1966 he began designing ready-to-wear garments, leaving Bergdorf Goodman to open his own business. Most importantly during the late 1960’s and 1970’s Halston established a reputation as a designer of knitwear, sweaters and wide-legged jersey trousers, turtlenecks, long slinky halter neck dresses , cashmere dresses for day and evening, sweater sets and boxy, square jackets and coats. Halston was an amazing designer who left a legacy and a brand name that is now recognizable around the world.
