First of all I have to say that the contemporary jewelry line, celestemichelle is very chic and fashionable.
The Celestemichelle brand is available at Bloomingdales and Fenwick Bond street. The designer makes very distinct decisions when interpreting trends to avoid the literal translation. I am so excited to say that I had the opportunity to interview Michelle for her jewelry line, check out the interview below!
ACD: How did you get into Jewelry?
Michelle: In 2001 after deciding to pursue a career doing something I was passionate about I got a job working with an Italian Jewelry manufacturer. This opportunity sealed my commitment to the craft of jewelry making and design. I was continually in awe of the ability to turn metal, stones, wood and such into wearable pieces of art. To see the entire process of creating something so beautiful that would be a treat or a gift with the sole purpose of adding beauty and adorning the body sealed my commitment to the jewelry industry. During my time with this Italian company the joy I felt as I met with buyers across the country and designers from across the world was so inspirational and educational that it was a new high for me. I knew I was living my dream as I was happy again for the first time since my childhood days in Jamaica with my great grandmother Celeste. I wanted to share that incredible feeling with my local Brooklyn community. I wanted to challenge myself to create wearable art that is budget friendly.
The set of 15 multi stretch bracelets is a popular style for celestemichelle (price $28)
I wanted to interpret the trends from ready to wear into jewelry accessible to all. So I decided to get a table at a Brooklyn flea market selling my own designs. This experience was rewarding on so many levels to be around like minded individuals all pursuing their dreams. To meet the customer and get their feedback on the jewelry. All this helped shaped my point of view and got me to take the final step of sharing my love, passion, heart and soul to a broader market with celetemichelle trend jewelry.
ACD: What is your definition of Chic?
Michelle: An elevated look that does not scream aspirational.
ACD: What inspires you?
Michelle: romantic weather – a leisurely walk on a hot day at the beach, a snowed in night or rainy afternoon.

ACD: What is something you want the readers to know about your line?
Michelle: That there is always an unexpected piece of fine jewelry in each design. It could be a semi precious stone or precious metal finding. We are bringing luxury to the trendy fashionista at a great cost.
ACD: What stores carry your line? And what is the best way for someone to reach you via Website, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and any other info you would like to include?
