Ginger Spice aka Geri Halliwell is reportedly designing her own range of evening dresses that will be carried in the British High street store ‘Next’, for release later this year. I think she will be a excellent designer. Reportedly they will be elegant and beautiful but not expensive.
CoutureLab.com is this fabulous little site that I discovered on my blogging friends site named http://miaandmaki.com/ . CoutureLab was created by Carmen E. Busquets B. She came up with this wonderful little idea for her company. She stated ” I wanted a company that would be committed to enhancing the clients’ individuality, as well as inspiring them by featuring the most creative products by global designers and artists.”

de la Renta, Oscar 1932- Designer. Was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. De la Renta studied at the University of Santo Domingo and the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid, Spain. He originally inteneded to become a abstract painter. He took the first steps in fashion when he designed a gown for the debutante daughter of the US ambassador to Spain which was featured on the cover of Life. Shortly after, de la Renta joined Balenciaga’s couture house in Madrid. in 1961 he went to Paris as an assistant to Antonio del Castillio at the house of Lanvin-Castillo. Two years later he jumped over to Elizabeth Arden’s couture and ready-to wear salon in New York. In 1965, de la Renta moved to Jane Derby and on her retirement that same year he established his own business. He gained recognition in the 1960’s for a designer of extravagant, opulent, yet tasteful clothes. Over the following years de la Renta has established himself as a couture and ready-to wear designer of positive, vibrant dresses, coats, suits and daywear. He is most known for his creation of the coctail dresses and formal gowns which many celebrities and first ladies have worn in the past.
